Privacy Policy

Overview

Peel Away is a self-guided app designed to help users change unwanted pornography habits. The app does not require an account, and the personal information entered into its core features is stored locally on your device.

Data Stored on Your Device

Depending on the features you use, Peel Away may store:

• Onboarding answers, including your goals, age range, triggers, habits, relationship status, and related self-assessments
• Streak start dates, challenge lengths, and progress
• Daily wins and their dates
• Relapse journal entries, selected feelings, and streak information
• App preferences and onboarding completion status
• Local notification preferences

This information is stored in the app's local iOS storage. DarkHeart LLC does not receive this information through an app account or backend.

Subscriptions and Purchases

Purchases and subscription status are processed by Apple through the App Store and StoreKit. Apple may provide the app with product and entitlement information needed to complete purchases, restore purchases, and unlock paid features.

DarkHeart LLC does not receive or store your full payment card details. Apple's privacy policy and payment terms apply to App Store transactions.

Notifications

If you grant permission, Peel Away may schedule local reminders on your device, such as a daily wins check-in. These reminders are generated locally. You can change notification permissions at any time in iOS Settings.

External Resources

Peel Away may open external resources, including crisis-support websites or your device's phone functionality. When you leave the app, the destination provider and your device or network provider may process information under their own privacy policies.

Data We Do Not Collect

The current version of Peel Away:

• Does not require an account, email address, or password
• Does not operate an app backend that receives your onboarding answers, journal entries, daily wins, or streak history
• Does not include third-party advertising
• Does not collect precise location
• Does not sell your personal information

Data Retention and Deletion

Local data remains on your device until it is removed through an available in-app reset feature, cleared by the operating system, or deleted when you uninstall the app. Subscription records remain subject to Apple's retention practices.

Security

Local information is protected by the security controls available on your device and in iOS. No storage method is completely secure, so you should protect access to your device, especially because entries may contain sensitive information.

Children

Peel Away is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you are below the minimum age required to use the app in your country, do not use Peel Away.

Your Choices

You may:

• Skip optional app features or information
• Disable notifications in iOS Settings
• Manage or cancel subscriptions in Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions
• Delete locally stored app data by using an available reset option or uninstalling the app

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as the app changes. The effective date above will be updated when changes take effect.

Agreement

By downloading or using Peel Away, you agree to these Terms and the Privacy Policy above. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

Service Description

Peel Away provides self-guided educational and motivational tools that may include:

• Streak and milestone tracking
• Challenges and commitment exercises
• Trigger and habit self-assessments
• SOS and urge-management exercises
• Daily wins and relapse journaling
• Links to crisis-support resources
• Optional paid subscription features

Features may change, be added, or be removed over time.

Health and Crisis Disclaimer

Peel Away is not medical care, mental-health treatment, therapy, or a crisis service. It does not diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any condition and is not a substitute for advice from a qualified professional.

Results are not guaranteed. You remain responsible for your choices, health, and wellbeing.

If you are in immediate danger or thinking about harming yourself or another person, contact local emergency services or a qualified crisis service immediately. In the United States, call or text 988 for the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline.

Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old, meet the minimum age required in your country, and be legally able to agree to these Terms. If applicable law requires permission from a parent or guardian, you must have that permission.

Acceptable Use

You agree to:

• Use Peel Away only for personal and lawful purposes
• Not interfere with, disrupt, reverse engineer, or misuse the app
• Not attempt to bypass subscription or access controls
• Seek qualified professional or emergency help when appropriate

Subscriptions and Payments

Some features may require a paid auto-renewing subscription offered through Apple's App Store. Available plans may include weekly and annual subscriptions.

• Payment is charged to your Apple ID account after purchase confirmation
• Subscriptions renew automatically unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period
• Apple may charge your account for renewal within 24 hours before the current period ends
• You can manage or cancel subscriptions in Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions
• You may restore eligible purchases using the restore option in the app
• Refund requests are handled by Apple under its policies
• Prices and available plans are shown in the app before purchase and may vary by country

Deleting the app does not automatically cancel a subscription.

Intellectual Property

Peel Away, including its branding, design, software, and original content, is owned by DarkHeart LLC or its licensors and is protected by applicable intellectual-property laws.

You receive a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the app in accordance with these Terms. You retain ownership of content you enter into the app.

Third-Party Services and Links

The app may rely on or link to third-party services, including Apple and crisis-support resources. DarkHeart LLC does not control those services and is not responsible for their availability, content, or practices. Your use of them may be governed by separate terms and privacy policies.

Disclaimer of Warranties

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, PEEL AWAY IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE,” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation, continued availability, data preservation, or any particular behavioral, personal, or health outcome.

Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, DARKHEART LLC AND ITS AFFILIATES WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOSS OF DATA, PROFITS, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF PEEL AWAY.

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR CLAIMS RELATED TO THE APP WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID FOR PEEL AWAY IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM OR (B) USD $50.

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions or limitations, so portions of this section may not apply to you.

Indemnification

To the extent permitted by law, you agree to indemnify and hold harmless DarkHeart LLC from claims, damages, and expenses arising from your unlawful misuse of the app or violation of these Terms.

Termination

You may stop using Peel Away at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these Terms or if the app or a feature is discontinued.

Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the state in which DarkHeart LLC is organized, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, except where mandatory consumer-protection laws in your jurisdiction apply.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms. The effective date above will be updated when changes take effect. Continued use of Peel Away after an update means you accept the revised Terms.
